Ekk Deewana Tha is the Hindi remake of tamil movie ” Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa.” In 2010 this movie was also remade in Telugu named “Ye Maaya Chesave.” The shooting of the movie was started in 2010 but as Prateik was busy in the promotion of his movie “DhobiGhat” the shooting was stopped and the it was started again in april 2011. It was done on the various places like mumbai, Kerala, Chennai, Agra and Delhi.

About the Movie - The story of the movie is about a 22 year old guy named Sachin, who is an engineering graduate and belongs to a middle class family in Mumbai. Sachin is a big lover of cinema he wants to work in cinemas.
Sachin is a struggler in film industry. He daily keep on trying to make an entry into any of the main film, he is totally depend upon the pocket money given to him by his father. Then he sees Jessie and falls in love with her at first sight. She is a beautiful and smart girl. But she belong to such family where falling in love or watching movies, parties are not allowed.
Sachin has not two struggeles. Cinema industry and Jessie’s family. It is a good love story of a struglling boy who has to change his character according to situation. If you are fan of Hindi love stories then you’ll surely enjoy the movie.

A. R. Rehman is the composer and Javed Akhtar has written the songs. Songs has the same tune as in old original tamil movie. Musicperk.com has given 8 out of 10 for the music of the movie. They said that, ”If you are a first time listener, you will LOVE this! For those who are already in love with VTV and YMC songs, you should probably take the instrumentals and the first song alone”.
